When I was in high school, I started working out to lose weight. I struggled with my body image and there was nothing more important than starving myself and doing hours and hours of cardio to be skinny. After a much-needed reality check, I realized how harmful my lifestyle was and the damage I was doing to my body. 5 years later, I can now look back and say that I’ve changed my mindset completely.
I am now pursuing a degree in occupational therapy where I will work to promote health as well as prevent disease and disability. With this, I will teach strategies to incorporate healthy habits and routines into people’s daily lives. A big portion of this includes working out.
Working out isn’t just about the physical health benefits. For me, it’s about the mental release, the joy factor, the confidence booster, the mental strength, and most importantly, the power to inspire others. I’ve been working in the fitness industry for 3 years, and one of the most rewarding feelings is being able to help others achieve their goals in a safe and healthy way. What I love about Koko is how it’s individualized nature facilitates that experience for myself and our members, using personalized workouts, meal plans and body composition data to overcome any obstacles in our way. I want you to succeed just as bad as you want yourself to succeed. I will be here to help you, push you, and hold you accountable to your goals. “Koko” means individual, one-by-one: and that’s exactly how I plan to help you become who you want to be.
